Difference and introduction of various micronized wax

Micronized wax is widely used in paints and inks for its excellent properties, improving the surface's scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, increasing slip, and improving the feel; improving anti-blocking and anti-fouling properties, preventing pigment sedimentation, Light powder production of high-performance matte paint, etc., has become an indispensable important auxiliary in the production of paints and inks. 1Introduction of wax powder Micronized wax is an ultra-fine powder with a particle size ranging from 2 to 30 μm and a wide molecular weight distribution, from about 600 to 6000, and is widely used.There are mainly Fischer-Tropsch waxes, polyethylene waxes, polypropylene waxes, polytetrafluoroethylene waxes and modified waxes.  

(1) Fischer-Tropsch wax: It is a hard paraffin wax with a linear molecular weight of 500-1000 g / mol, which is polymerized by Ficher-Tropsch process using gas (CO + H2) as raw material. Lower melting point, excellent smoothness and improved hand feel. Economical and practical.  

(2) Polyethylene wax: It has excellent anti-friction, anti-scratch, anti-blocking and gloss retention properties, and has a wide range of applications. Compared with Fischer-Tropsch wax, it has more branched structure and better wear resistance. 

(3) Polypropylene wax: Compared with polyethylene wax, it has higher softening point, higher hardness, outstanding anti-blocking performance, and better resistance to metal scratches. It can prevent the sedimentation of pigments and silica in coatings, but is compatible. Slightly worse, difficult to disperse.  

(4) Polytetrafluoroethylene wax: higher softening point, higher density, excellent heat resistance, providing outstanding slip, abrasion resistance, scratch resistance, and tack resistance. Diffusion is difficult and the price is high. 

(5) Modified micronized wax: Modified polyethylene wax or synthetic wax with PTFE to increase the softening point and hardness of polyethylene wax, increase smoothness, abrasion resistance, scratch resistance, anti-blocking, and improve polysilicon. Fluorinated vinyl waxes are difficult to disperse and have a high price. Widely used in printing iron and steel coatings.Generally speaking, PE wax has good smoothness, strong feel and easy dispersion. PP wax has outstanding abrasion resistance and difficult dispersion. PTFE has excellent hydrophobic stain resistance, excellent comprehensive properties, and is difficult to disperse. Generally, it is improved through modification. Its dispersion performance.For the same type of wax powder, the softening point is increased, the abrasion resistance is enhanced, and the matting effect is enhanced; the wax powder's permeability value is reduced, the surface hardness is increased, and the hydrophobic performance is enhanced; the acid value is increased, the wettability is enhanced, and it is easy to disperse.
